The new law introduced in January
2005 allows only qualified Electricians holding a current 16th IEE Regulations City and Guilds qualification may carry out electrical
works providing the firm is registered with a governing body such as NICEIC including part P registration or ECA.
A qualified electrician can oversee the supervision of trainees and a Qualified Manager with one of the governing bodies to test full/part installations, both new and old, for the purpose of issuing Testing Certificates.
